Solipskier

I was fortunate enough to port a super fun flash game called Solipskier to iOS.
Solipskier is a fast paced skiing game where you draw the slopes with your mouse (or your finger) and an animated skier rides along. Obstacles come whipping by and it’s up to you to guide Solipskier through safely! If you hit a red gate, a wall of snow, or just plain fall below the bottom edge, Solipskier takes a comical fall to his splatworthy death! The music is great. It is one of those addicting games, …

For the love of Huffman: Just support VP8

I am excited about VP8. For those who don’t know, Google bought a digital video compression format and gave it to everyone declaring it royalty free. VP8 is bumping elbows with the likes of the popular H.264, which is of course patent restricted. When I saw clips of Google announcing VP8 and the WebM project at Google I/O, I went to the net to find more information and to hear all the cheers. Beautiful Code

Yeah, this post is inspired by the O’Reilly book of the same name. It’s a few years old, but it’s a good one.  When I first read the title of the book, I thought it was about beautiful looking code. It’s not… necessarily, but I found something peculiar when reading it. Code that implements a beautiful design usually ends up looking, well, beautiful.
